Real stories of change and transformation from Limbe.
Marie was a single mother of three with no income and no prospects. After joining our Livelihood for Women program in 2022, she received vocational training in tailoring and a micro-grant to start her business. Today, she runs a thriving tailor shop in Limbe market and has hired two other women.
“This program didn’t just give me money — it gave me my dignity back and a future for my children.”
— Marie Claire, Program Beneficiary
Sarah grew up in a family where no one had ever attended university. Through our Girls Education Initiative, she received a full scholarship and mentorship support. In 2024, she enrolled in the University of Buea to study Public Health, becoming a symbol of hope for girls in her village.
“I am proof that where you start does not have to determine where you end up.”
— Sarah Enow, Scholarship Recipient
The village of Batoke had no clean water source. Women and children walked 3km daily to fetch water. In 2023, we partnered with the community to install a solar-powered water pump system. Over 400 people now have access to clean water, reducing waterborne disease by 60%.
“Our women no longer carry heavy buckets for miles. Now they use that energy to grow our community.”
— Chief John Nfor, Village Chief
