Water of Life: Mudeka Well Construction Reaches Final Phase

June 24, 2026 344

We are thrilled to share that the Care Relief Association borehole drilling crew has struck high-quality groundwater at a depth of 75 meters in Mudeka village. For generations, the children and women of Mudeka had to walk up to 3 kilometers daily to draw water from seasonal streams which were often contaminated.

Thanks to our generous donors, the main solar-powered pumping structure is now installed. This week, we commenced construction of the elevated 10,000-liter storage tank and community tap stands. Crucially, we have trained a local 5-member Water Committee (comprising three women and two men) on preventative maintenance, tariff collection, and hygiene sanitation practices to ensure long-term sustainability.
